A futuristic Robinson Crusoe/MacGyver on Mars in a story along the lines of Apollo 13 meets Castaway. The movie, directed by Ridley Scott, comes out October 2nd and is touted as a veritable “love letter to science.”
This is a PSA to encourage you to read the book first, or at least listen to the audio version (it’s only 11 hours long, 384 pages).
Author Andy Weir’s wildly successful tale has NASA, the scientific community, and nerds everywhere excited for the big screen adaptation that will likely gather momentum for real life missions to Mars.
